Before Your Session:
Prior to your session, I will conduct an interview with you over the phone. This allows me to become familiar with you and what you are looking for during your session. This also allows you the opportunity to ask any questions you may have. And please, ask away! I am happy to help you in any way I can.
During Your Session:
I take a very relaxed approach to each session. This is why each session is at least one hour. It has been my experience that when working with expectant mothers, babies and young children, small breaks are an absolute necessity. Whether it’s a potty break, a snack or simply a hug, the end result is always the same. Happy, well-rested clients with full bellies equal better portraits. (This includes you too, Mom and Dad!) 🙂
The full hour also allows time for me to become acquainted with each unique family so that I can capture its true character and individuality. My goal is to capture these brief moments in time, so that they will become the memories you and your family will visually treasure for a lifetime.
After Your Session:
About two weeks after your session, I will contact you via email to give you your password so that you can access your session’s gallery. Don’t forget to share your password with family and friends! Each session produces roughly 20 proofs for you to choose from. You will have 14 days to view your gallery. You may have your gallery republished for an additional week for $25.
I’m only slightly kidding when I say you should come straight from the hospital to the studio for your newborn session. It really is ideal to photograph newborns before the age of two weeks – and the younger the better. There are a number of reasons for this. New babies change every day – we want to capture that sweet newborn look before it so quickly fades away. Also, younger infants tend to sleep better while being positioned and re-positioned – and we want them to sleep as much as possible. And finally, although minor digital retouching is included in your session fee, we want to avoid the baby acne that most little ones get at around 3 weeks of age.
Newborn Session Tips:
Please dress light – I keep the studio nice and warm to accommodate the baby – as he or she will spend the majority of the time in thier birthday suit. Please bring a good supply of diapers, wipes and milk for the baby.
